When Jesus Came Into My Heart

Beloved,

We are approaching the last Sunday in January. One month is nearly gone. Eleven are in front of us. I hope and pray that you are experiencing God's 2020 blessings in your life. And, I hope and pray that you continue to experience God anew as He refreshes, restores, and revives you again and again into the new life that we are promised if we will trust, believe, and obey Him.

It is sometimes hard to live out the Christian life; but, if you have given your life to God through Jesus Christ, that is the life that you are supposed to be living.

And, the hardest part about living out the Christian life is that some know who you used to be.

We all probably have some regrets in how we lived our lives before becoming Christians and some of us, if we are completely honest, still have some things that we have to go on our knees about and pray for forgiveness.

The great thing is that we know that God will forgive us, cleanse us, and give us another chance. Why? Because God loves us.

The Apostle Paul had such an experience when he met Jesus on the road to Damascus, or perhaps better named, the road to destruction, destruction of Christians, Christ followers. That is until he met Jesus for himself.

After he met Jesus, Acts 9:20-21 tells us, "and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, 'He is the Son of God.' All who heard him were amazed and said, 'Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem among those who invoked this name? And has he not come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?'"

After Paul met Jesus, the road to Damascus ceased to be the road to destruction; and, instead, became the road to deliverance for Paul and others who believed in his message.

Beloved, when Jesus comes into your heart, everything changes and everyone around you changes because of what has taken place inside of you because of who has come inside of you, Jesus.

I hope and pray that you will continue to let Jesus come into your heart and that your life will be ordered by the Holy Spirit who was promised to every believer by Jesus.

As Paul amazed those who met him after Jesus came into his heart, you are going to amaze those around you.

Never let your past be your place of residence. No. Let it be your platform for living the best life you can possibly live after you have given your life to God through Jesus Christ as guided by the Holy Spirit.

I look forward to seeing the amazing you this evening at HOPE Wednesday as we continue our study through the Wisdom Literature and journey further through the book of Proverbs. You come and bring someone with you.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
