God's Glory In Your Gift
Beloved,
I have been so overwhelmed by our gatherings this week in Vacation Bible School. We have had wonderful participation and support with teachers and students coming together to learn more about the Lord as we journey through our topic, "World Changers". Some of you have been missing and I pray that your absence has been worth it because we have truly been blessed in coming together. And, we miss you when you are not with us. We will always be better and stronger together.
And, as we learned last night, part of our coming together is in the sharing of our gifts, God-given gifts.
The Great Commission, the sharing of the Gospel throughout the world, does not come simply by teaching and preaching. No, it comes from you being who God has created you to be and you intentionally, earnestly, consistently sharing yourself with the world.
Some are gifted with art, music, cooking, business, hospitality, etc. Do notice that I did not start with wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, spiritual discernment, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, or other deemed spiritual gifts.
Beloved, every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord and your gift to the world may not be captured in the inexhaustive list we are given in 1 Corinthians 12; but, I want you to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, you have a gift that God wants you to use that will glorify Him and bring others to Christ.
In the passage of 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 11, the Apostle Paul explains, "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good...All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses."
We all have some gift, some service, some action from God that will glorify God as God chooses for us to be used by Him to glorify Him. God has already figured out your best and highest use.
You just need to passionately and faithfully do what God has gifted you to do and encourage others to do the same.
I am so excited when I see people operate within their gifts. I am also excited when I see people who have not yet found their place because I know, in God's time, the gift will be revealed.
So, if you are doing nothing for God, do not seek to do and be like someone else. Pray to God to reveal what it is that He has for you to do. And, when you find it, do it.
It is in your unique gift that you will find your greatest joy and it will be manifest before all for the glory of God.
Zion Memorial, World Changers, find your place in God's glory.
And, as you journey to that place, remember, God loves you and I love you too!
Keep on coming out for Vacation Bible School. The numbers are increasing daily. Make sure you are here to be counted and bring someone with you.
Be blessed,
Rev. Cain
