God Keeps His Promises
Beloved,
I thank God for being God. And, I thank God for you. As I reflect on my life and all that God has brought me through, I know I am living according to His grace, mercy and love. I have many stories to assure me of His presence and His faithfulness of never leaving me nor forsaking me. I am also encouraged by your stories of God fulfilling His promises. Our individual tests become our collective testimonies as we learn to trust in the Lord and share our victories.
From the beginning of time, God has been a promise keeper. And, for that reason, whenever we are in trial, tribulation, strife or struggle, we can turn to Him.
When storms arise, we know the one who is the storm chaser and peace deliverer, our God.
We all have storms that will come into our lives from time to time. While our storms may be unique to us, we are all the same in that we all have storms.
The ultimate storm is the one that completely wipes you out.
God has promised that He will not let that ultimate storm rise against you and destroy you. He will be there for you always.
Even in the storms of nature, God has given us a promise that has stood the test of time.
Genesis 9:13-15 tells us, "I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh."
Rainbows as signs. Clouds as storms. Promises as evidence of relationship between God and all of His creation. Waters as opportunities to see God be God.
The waters of trouble that come with the storms of life are there to remind of you of the power and presence of our God who will never let them utterly destroy you because He has not forgotten His rainbow as a reminder that He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you.
And, God keeps His promises.
Beloved, the promise keeping God responds when we call to Him.
Tonight, at HOPE Wednesday, we will have our final gathering to discuss Prayer. This session will deal with the type of prayer that many of us use most frequently, Struggle: Asking His Help. We all do it. Let's all come to discuss it.
And, bring someone with you. We all need His help.
