Spread the word
My Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church Family,
I am still feeling so good from having had the opportunity to worship with you again on Sunday. I always miss our time together. I am hopeful that many of you in receipt of this message will be with us tonight at HOPE Wednesday as we continue our study on prayer. We have transportation for those who do not desire to drive and we have daylight savings time that has kicked in to give us sunlight when we come and when we go. So, in a few words, if you have no excuse, make no excuse. Come.
Why is it so important for us to come together?
We need to come together so that we can continue to learn the word of God together and empower ourselves to do so no matter where we are and no matter what we are going through.
The Gospel only goes out when we, Christians, choose to intentionally and consistently spread the word.
The Apostle Paul, while under house arrest, told his young charge, Timothy, in 2 Timothy 2:8-11, "Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David - that is my gospel, for which I suffer hardship, even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they may also obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory."
Beloved, in the center of this passage it reads, "But the word of God is not chained."
I pray that you will receive the power in these words.
In your health, whether you are sick or well, you can still proclaim the word of God so that others might desire to receive salvation. The word of God is not chained even if you are going through.
In your wealth, whether you are rich or poor, you can still proclaim the word of God so that others might desire to receive salvation. The word of God is not chained even if you are going through.
In your relationships, whether you are at a mountain peak or a valley low, you can still proclaim the word of God so that others might desire to receive salvation. The word of God is not chained even if you are going through.
When it comes to preaching, the Apostle Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2, "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."
Even if you are not a preacher, you should have a word to proclaim.
Beloved, somebody in your life needs for you to release His Holy Word in their life...RIGHT NOW!
But, to spread the word, you need to know the word.
So, I strongly encourage you to come together with the church family so that we can continue to learn together and grow together, not just for you, but also for those who the Lord will lead you to.
Spread the word!
And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!
Be blessed,
Rev. Cain
