If You Can't Do It, God Can

Beloved,

How wonderful it was to have so many of you show up at New Bethel on Sunday. It truly blessed me to know that I have a church family that will move together in love and support of me and each other. I pray that it was a good time in the Lord for all of you.

Whenever I approach a situation like asking you to go out with me, I pray about it.

I will admit it. I am jealous over you. You are my church family and I love you. I think it is a part of my God DNA, that part of me that is like God for God says that He is a jealous God and will have no other gods before Him. Zion, you are my church family and I will have no other church families before you. So, when I go out to represent Zion, I want Zion with me.

But, I cannot make you go. Prayerfully, you have to consider all things and make a decision.

Part of the God DNA is understanding some words that might cloud our thoughts, judgement, decisions and actions.

Those words in the God DNA are Don't, Never, and Always.

These are limiting words that I believe should only be spoken by us in reference to God but not necessarily to or about ourselves.

If God brings you to something, why should you say or listen to someone else saying, "Don't"?

If God says for you to do something, why should you say or listen to someone else saying, "Never"?

If God prophetically reveals that something is going to end that is going on, why should you say or listen to someone else saying, "Always"?

Don't, Never, and Always are words that bind and only God can truly bind. Even life and death are in His hands. We simply are participants and recipients of His holy will.

Instead, there is another way to approach life. Ephesians 3:20 says,

"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine..."

You, child of God, are only limited by what God is willing to do. HE IS ABLE. Therefore, you are not limited by your time, talent, and treasure.

You are only limited by your willingness to go to God with everything.

You think. God's ways and thoughts are higher than your ways and thoughts.

You plan. God brings plans to pass.

You hope. God wills.

You try. God makes things happen in either His perfect or permissive will.

Feeling a little anxious about something today? Turn it over to God.

If you can't do it, God can.

I hope to see you at HOPE Wednesday this evening as we continue our journey in Revelation. Do not grow weary. Do not get distracted. Do not give up. Pray to God and ask Him for guidance, direction, focus, and perseverance, the stuff that Christians are made of.

You come and remember to bring someone with you. We, as a church family, have a lot of love to give to each other and to others in need of God's love.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
