God Has Got You Covered

Church Family,

It is HOPE Wednesday and I am excited for you and I as we prepare to come together this evening. It is also now three days before Family, Friends and Community Weekend. I am also excited about this wonderful time of fun, fellowship and food based on our faith walk with God and our desire to share our love for each other and others.

We need time like this to gather because it gets hard out in the world sometimes.

Let us all admit it. We all worry about something some of the time. Some of us, if we are completely honest, worry about something all of the time.

Should we?

Well, it depends on who has you covered.

If I have to depend on me, I know who I see in the morning. I know who I see at noonday. I know who I see in the evening. I know who I see at midnight.

That person, in his best efforts, sometimes does not come through.

I cannot always cover myself.

Now, if I would dare to depend on God, I can look to God in the morning. I can look to God at noonday. I can look to God in the evening. I can look to God at midnight.

God never fails and God always comes through.

If I trust in God, God has got me covered.

In Luke 12:27-28, Jesus put it this way,

"Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you - you of little faith!"

Jesus was saying that if the seemingly insignificant are so important to God that God makes sure their needs are covered, then you, made in God's image, surely need not worry.

God has got you covered.

You learn more about your covering by learning more about your God by learning more about His Holy Word.

Tonight, we will be starting the second chapter of our study on Revelation covering chapters 4-5.

Come to learn more about your covering.

I ask that you pray for our coming together. I ask that you search your heart, mind and spirit if you are continuously, intentionally choosing not to gather with us. I pray that you will have a desire to come be covered with us by learning more about God with your church family. And, share that desire with someone else who can benefit from learning more about our God.

I ask that you also pray for Family, Friends, and Community Weekend. Pray for the weather. Pray for those sharing their talents and gifts. Pray for the fellowship. Pray for all who will play a part, big and small. Pray for our church. Pray for our visitors. Pray for our coming together on Saturday and Sunday. Pray for those souls that may be saved and those souls that may be encouraged.

I look forward to a joyous time with you tonight and this weekend.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
