Are You Wise?

Beloved,

Do we serve a good God or what? By the wisdom and guidance of God, we chose to weather, not tempt or test, the storm and God blessed us with a phenomenal worship service to celebrate our wonderful, annointed women of Zion Memorial. And, God allowed us to witness three people making a decision to join our church family, one desiring to be baptized. Again, do we serve a good God or what?

If we know that we serve a good God, then would it not be best to seek Him and serve Him so that His goodness, His greatness, His grace could be bestowed on us all the time?

Would that be wise?

Are you wise?

In terms of wisdom, James 3:16-18 says,

"For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disorder and wickedness of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace."

God has something for us that the world may desire but cannot get out of it's own way enough to receive. It has to come from God for those who seek Him and serve Him, and only Him.

If what you do creates chaos and conflict, if what you do always seems hard, if what you do has to be your way and only your way, if what you do is unforgiving and breaks relationships, if what you do is only for those who you like and love while you smile in the face of those who you really dislike and hate, then what you do is not of God and it is not wise to live that way.

I would imagine that if you find gain in the world by such methods, then you may have many things but you will not have one thing that we all treasure, peace.

If you can wisely seek and serve God, then you may find that you have the peace that not only passes all understanding but that will also help you to sleep well at night, trusting that God has it all in His hands.

If you could have that kind of peace, would it not make sense to pursue it? Would that not be the wise thing to do?

Are you wise?

My brothers and sisters in Christ, tonight, we are embarking on the second leg of our journey through the book of Revelation. We had a great start and are praying for continued greatness in our travels together.

We are learning about the seven churches who Christ told John to write to. While Zion was not one of the seven, I believe there is much to be learned from what Jesus said.

Come tonight. Bring someone with you. I think it would be wise to do so. I have extra books for those who need one.

Come and gather with the church family.

I think that would be a wise move.

And, wisely remember, God loves you and I love you too.

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
