Wait on the Lord
Beloved,
It is almost here, Christmas. It is almost here, New Year’s Day.
Live long enough and you will have many almost here moments.
During your waiting, you can feel faint, weary, confused, powerless, even exhausted.
And, we go through all of this to do what in the new year? The same thing all over again.
Is there a better way?
Isaiah 40:28-31 tells us,
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; BUT THOSE WHO WAIT FOR THE LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
As you look to Christmas and New Year’s Day, enjoy the moments but do not lose sight of the one who makes it all possible and more; otherwise, you may just drag the old issues that you have been dealing with into the newness of the day and keep waiting to see how YOU will figure things out...if you can.
Instead, I encourage you to turn it over to the God who has unlimited time, talent, and treasure that He can mobilize on your behalf.
Can He do it? Yes He can.
Will He do it? That is up to Him to choose how He will reveal His glory thru you for Him.
Should you trust Him? Yes you should. He has given you life, on earth and into eternity, because He loves you.
So, what should you do? Wait on the Lord. Keep doing what you are doing until He redirects your paths. And then get busy doing that until He gives you a new assignment.
Do not try to outrun Him in haste, anxiety, and lack of self-control. You might run right past your next blessing.
Just wait on the Lord in faith and service.
Remember, no Bible Study until the first Wednesday in February.
Look forward to seeing ALL of you on Sunday. We will have waited a full week on the Lord gathering us together for another family reunion. I cannot wait to see you...but, with God on my side, I will wait for the blessing that I believe He has in store for us all.
Be blessed,
Rev. Cain
